MusiKaravan: Who Are We?

Welcome to MusiKaravan! In this video we tell you how we started traveling with our violins in a red '71 VW bus! Where do we come from? What were we doing before the pandemic hit? Why are we on the road? Follow us on your favorite social media outlet to tag along the journey of MusiKaravan!

About MusiKaravan:

Concert violinists from Delirium Musicum chamber orchestra, artistic director Etienne Gara, and Yueun Kim have been living out of their vintage Volkswagen and performing socially-distanced concerts for farm workers, winemakers, random passerby, and even the occasional ostrich!

With concert venues closed for the 2020 summer season due to COVID-19, Etienne and YuEun hit the road in a 1971 VW bus. Originally expecting to be at the Hollywood Bowl, and at festivals playing summertime concerts for thousands of people, they are now packing their instruments and bringing music safely to people through MusiKaravan.

Produced by Delirium Musicum, MusiKaravan is a project to showcase great music, delicious food and wine together with human bonding. Its goal is to celebrate the people who are “working hard to feed us physically and emotionally with quality products".

At the heart of Delirium Musicum is the desire to bond with the audience, bring joy, inspire and impact people’s emotions through music. MusiKaravan is designed to make music a traveling force, one that brings people together to share in something that is truly magical.

Artistic and music director Etienne Gara and violinist YuEun Kim are founding members of Delirium Musicum, a Los Angeles- based self-conducted chamber orchestra dedicated to providing impassioned and engaging musical performances that deeply connect the audience to the musicians.
